Community Shelter update - Jan 2022
The build phase has started and we're thrilled to share some of the details with you!
Despite everything that Covid has thrown at us we have finally made a start on building the superstructure for the new Community Shelter. We are currently working with the Apperley Centre in Stonehouse (post 16 college for students with additional needs), P3 Charity Stroud (working with the homeless), the Access Centre, Chipping Sodbury School (specialist unit for students on the autistic spectrum), and Malmesbury Secondary School as well as our own youth group Wild Westonbirt.
Working alongside the professional carpenters the community participants have been preparing the timber materials and assembling arches as modules that will form the skeleton of the superstructure.

ITV West Country visited Westonbirt in January to see The Apperley Centre community participants building the Community Shelter with Xylotek:
At the moment most of the work is being done at ground level, but over the next few weeks you should be able to see the structure start to sprout and take shape. Keep up to date via our dedicated webpage.
